From time to time we offer a review of services of mobility products supplied to the disabled and elderly, this is a Felgains, care and mobility review.
Felgains was founded in 1977 in the small seaside town of Felixstowe, Suffolk and started as a small family-run mobility retailer in the local area before expanding in 1983 to supply care equipment to nursing homes.
In 1994, Felgains moved to nearby Ipswich, where a larger premises and showroom enabled further expansion of their product range, including stairlifts, overhead hoists and assisted baths. Felgains continued to grow to become one of the leading suppliers of care equipment in East Anglia and, in 2005, moved to their current premises in Knightsdale Road, Ipswich.
Today, Felgains’primary focus is supplying patient handling, hygiene and pressure care equipment into the health and social care market throughout the UK and they have become known for introducing a range of innovative products to the UK, including the VENDLET patient turning system and the Raizer emergency lifting chair.
They have, however, remained true to their roots and still have a separate mobility retail arm, with one of the largest showrooms in East Anglia. Their mobility product range includes:
